move the qi: an evening with masahiro ouchi
Masahiro Ouchi has practised for forty-five years. He founded and directs TaoZen Life Practice and the Healing Tao Centers of New York and Japan, teaches as a senior instructor of the Universal Healing Tao, and wrote What is Chi Nei Tsang?, One Minute Meditation and Healing Love. His path began as a child at a six hundred year old Zen temple in Japan and ran through Kendo, Kyudo and Shaolin Kung Fu before a year in India at twenty studying yoga. He is a senior student of Grandmaster Mantak Chia, and has also studied under Li Jun Feng, the parapsychologist Hiroshi Motoyama and Michizo Noguchi. He has taught at New York University, Queens College, the NY Open Center, Chiva-Som in Thailand, Ananda in the Himalayas and SHA Wellness in Spain. This is not a lecture. He asked for conversation, movement and breath, and the evening is built around all three: he talks about where the practice comes from and what forty-five years of it does to a body, and then the room stands up and practises with him. Come in clothes you can move in. Doors and drinks at 18:30, Masahiro begins at 19:00, and the room stays open for conversation from 20:30. Organised by Longevity Wednesdays, hosted at TEJÁ. Wednesday 21 october, 18:30 to 21:00.
